CHRISTMAS!

This year, Christmas felt complete. We had what we have wanted for so many Christmases, our precious little boy! Santa definitely came for all 3 of us this year. =) Christmas Eve we went to Grandma Thomson's and had dinner, and Santa's elves brought us pajamas! After dinner we drove to Megan&Marty's and slept there, or tried to sleep (the anticipation and excitement was making it hard) and then woke up Christmas morning to the sweetest little boys who could barely control themselves. SANTA CAME!!! Thank you M&M for having us for Christmas! Owen made out like a bandit, complete with toys, clothes, pacifiers, diapers, books, and candy! (Mom really enjoyed that one.) Then we went to church and were able to listen to the sweetest sounds of songs to remind us of our Savior and his birth, the true reason for this greatest time of the year.

Owen's 2 months old! We cannot believe how fast the time is flying. At 2 months Owen is smiling at us, still sleeping like a champ, and he's starting to be able to follow us with his eyes when we are closer to him. He has such good control of his little body and is holding his head up majority of the time on his own. He is such a good eater and I seem to have an endless supply of milk, thank goodness. He is so much fun and still loves to sleep in our arms and on our chests. I will be sad when the day comes that he won't do that anymore. We love you little buddy!

This perfect little boy is getting so big! By 1 month he is already smiling, somewhat holding his head up, and he is following my hand when it's in front of his face. He also is pretty much sleeping through the night...he gives me a good 6 hour stretch the first part of the night and then wakes up to eat and then sleeps for another 3 hours. Now that, I can do. He is amazing! Owen is a pretty gassy baby, which makes for long evenings here or there. It seems to happen mostly between 7and9. We discovered this miracle liquid called Gripe Water and it is perfect. It seems to really help and he also really likes the taste of it, Jason thinks he cries just so we'll give it to him. I think he has no idea. =) We are just so in love with our little man. He makes us so happy, plus, he's incredibly cute.

FINALLY! The last few appointments I had were the fun "check ups" where my doctor checks to see if I'm dilated or effaced, which unfortunately, I never was. So now I was trying to get this baby to come early under my doctor's orders. He was concerned that if I wasn't getting anywhere on my own [or in this case Owen wasn't getting anywhere] then we would for sure be doing a C-Section. After a week of trying to put myself into labor with Castor Oil, [highly NOT recommended] Jogging, Jumping Jacks, Pineapple and Spicy Food, we went in to Littleton hospital to be induced. September 8th I felt a whirlwind of emotions. I think I had a permanent look of fear and worry on my face all day. That sure is how I felt on the inside. I wanted a healthy baby and a healthy mommy to take care of that healthy baby. We went in to the Emergency Room at 6:00PM and they checked us in and sent us up to labor&delivery to start the fun process of induction. The nurse had this little pill to help me dilate and thin my uterus so that they could start the pitocin, however, a few hours of just that pill I was in full blown labor. I dilated to a 3 and then a 5 fairly quickly and by this time I was really starting to feel my contractions, so of course being the big wuss that I am [and I'm not afraid to admit it] I got an epidural the moment it started to hurt. In came pure bliss. Around this time I also started to get "labor shakes" and they were miserable. I never knew shaking so much could literally wipe you out, and the worst part was that I wasn't shaking because I was cold so it's not like a warm blanket would make them go away. They lasted for roughly 13 hours and finally stopped after Owen was born when they could give me medicine. I think I was more tired from those than anything else. About 16 hours into labor my doctor came in to check me and I was dilated to an 8 and then before we knew it I was at a 9 and 100% effaced! A few hours later I was still dilated to a 9 and Owen and his large head wouldn't drop past a -1. So a C-Section it was. I started getting a fever and his heart rate wasn't spiking anymore on top of him not dropping so I knew the right choice was a C-Section. Good thing too because come to find I was literally just too little on the inside to get him out so it would have been a lot of pushing and then an emergency C-Section...Not the ideal way to have your baby come into this world, although none of them really are.
September 9th at 3:59PM with my wonderful Hubby and amazing Sister Megan by my side, Owen Todd Thomson cried for the first time. That cry was the most precious sound I have ever heard. We all just started crying and Dr Dorr, along with his partner Dr Watson started singing Happy Birthday to our little Owen. They wrapped him up in a blanket and brought him over and put him on my chest and he just stared at me. All I kept thinking was this is it, my dream of being a Mom has finally come true. It was the most emotional and incredible day of my life. New Daddy Jason was the cutest ever. He was just in such awe of this baby and he was in love from the first moment he saw him. He never left Owen's side. I had to go into recovery for an hour and then was brought up to the Post Pardem side of the hospital and was able to hold my little boy for the second time and I never wanted to let him go.
Megan stayed with us in the hospital for the next couple days and nights [THANK YOU SO much Megan and Marty for making that possible] and we were able to learn how to be parents from her and our amazing nurses that we had. Seriously Megan, we couldn't have done it without you! I can't thank you enough. Owen had SO many visitors between all of our families and friends. Everyone was so nice to come see him and us and it made the hospital stay much more fun. Owen buddy we are so happy you have joined our family and we are so incredibly lucky to be your Mom&Dad. We Love You SO much!

My appointment went great! Our baby is just perfect as could be and the doc says everything with me looks really good. This baby is still measuring large so we're on for our induction on September 8th. I'm starting to feel very very anxious and extremely excited. We can't wait to meet you Little Man!

I feel like I'm so far behind on my pregnancy posts...Maybe that's because I am. Our appointment was short and sweet. They checked this sweet baby's heartbeat [which was perfect] checked my iron levels [which were amazing] and then measured my belly again. He's still big. : ] We love this big baby so much and can't wait until he gets here!

On the 1st we went to the Rockies Game and watched Fireworks at the very end...And boy were these the best Fireworks I have ever seen. They made our insides rumble and at one point looked like they were coming right at us. INCREDIBLE is the only word I can use to describe them. They were non.stop for about 20 min and the finale was amazing. Needless to say we loved them&our little guy was moving the entire time, I think he loved them too.

Sorry this post is a week late. Last Tuesday we had our 28 Week appointment and it went so well. I had to do the glucose test which was gross, but I passed! We also had another ultrasound and this little guy gets more and more unbelievable every time we see him. I am going to be getting induced most likely the 7th of September because of this baby's size. His head is in the 95th percentile and his body is in the 90th. Oh boy! I am now officially terrified of getting this baby out. He is in the "head down" position and really likes to kick his feet so my diaphragm is feeling awesome. =] Other than that everything is going great and he and I are very healthy and happy!

This little guy is growing so much and has been moving around like a monkey in my belly. I LOVE IT! At his 24 week appointment we got to hear his heartbeat [it was a perfect 147] and they measured my belly with a tape measurer. Our doctor said that I should measure according to how many weeks I was and I was at 24 weeks and I was measuring at 26 weeks. He said measuring bigger is okay, just that I will look and feel more pregnant than I really am, and that we will get an ultrasound next time we go at 28 weeks! YAY! It was so hard for me to leave not having seen this cute little guy and I was even a little sad. Our next appointment can't come soon enough. I am loving being pregnant but can't wait to meet this little one of ours. Only 16 more weeks to go!

Last Tuesday we had our 20 week appointment and it couldn't have gone better. Our little guy is getting so big [roughly the size of a 12 oz can] and he is very healthy. We are always just in awe watching him move around on the ultra sound screen and of course we love hearing the precious sounds of his heart beat. He was moving a lot and the umbilical cord was right by his mouth so he kept trying to suck on it. We could see his mouth opening and closing and even his tongue doing the sucking motion. SO cute! Hopefully that means he'll be a good eater. One of our favorite things was him yawning about every 3 minutes, he's a tired one just like his mommy. Keep growing little one! We love you so much.

On April 12th we celebrated our third Anniversary! It has been a crazy and fun loving three years and we truly just couldn't be happier with how our lives are coming together. We celebrated by going to Elway's the Saturday before the actual day because we had a gift card Jason won golfing. It was very yummy and we felt so special. They had the table set up with a rose for me and a cute little note for us just wishing us a Happy Anniversary. It was very cute. On our big day we went out to eat at Macaroni Grill, which of course being the pasta fan that I am, was absolutely delicious! Jason always knows how to make these days so fun and exciting and he just pampers me even though it's a day for both of us. I am so in love with this man and I look forward to the Eternity we have together!

That's right you read correctly...We're having a BOY! We found out at our 12 week appointment that there could possibly be a little peanut in there and at our 16 week appointment it was confirmed. We couldn't be happier! I love my big man and can't wait to have a little man join soon to love on as well!

Our little one is growing so big and healthy! It makes us so happy when we get to see and hear the heartbeat and just be able to look at our precious baby on the ultra sound screen. He was moving around so much, I can't wait until I can feel all the movements he was making. Our doctor says that he is going to be one big baby [possibly over 9 lbs!]. We were shocked by this because Jason and I were both under 7 lbs when we were born. I was talking with my grandma Walser that night and found out that my Dad and Aunts and Uncles on his side were all over 9 lbs... So it started making sense to us. We just love our little [big] baby so much&we're so proud of his growth and health!

Dad Comes To Town!

Megan&Marty's cute baby Hudson was blessed at the end of January which meant lots of family get togethers and DAD coming into town! We had so much fun and squeezed it all into 3 days. We had a Pizza party on Friday night [my dad's favorite is Pizza Hut] at my sister Jessica's house and a sleep.over to follow. Saturday we were all able to watch my nephew's Brandon&Carter's basketball games which were so much fun and they are incredible players. We then went to Senor Burritos [my favorite mexican food restaurant!] and enjoyed taking up almost the whole place with all of our family being there. Saturday night we all had a sleep.over at our house and then Sunday was Hudson's blessing! After the blessing we went over to Marty's parents for yummy sandwiches and sides. Jessica's house was full again that night with all of us and then dad had to go back Monday morning. : ( We enjoy spending time with family so much and cherish it more than anything. Megan thanks for having that handsome boy for us to enjoy and Daddio thanks for coming for the weekend! We loved it and we love you! [Charlotte,Hailey&Nate we missed you and can't wait to see you in July!]

On Jason's Birthday we met Marty&Megan and Ian&Mandy at Hacienda for lunch as a joint Birthday Celebration for Jason&Megan. It was so Yummy and so much Fun! We always have a blast hanging out with them. After Hacienda J and I went to look at Jeeps [Jason's one request for his Birthday...] and then we went to PF Changs for dinner. We ordered WAY too much food but we laughed and ate our little hearts out. HAPPY BIRTHDAY J! I love you so much!

Wow. It's been a long time since I last posted so here's a major catch up! In Dec we went Downtown to see the Parade of Lights with Mandy&Ian and Megan&Marty and their cute kids. It was so much fun! We had Noodles&Co for dinner and then got Vanilla Steamers and Hot Chocolate from Starbucks so we could stay warm. The kids were so cute... they danced to all the music and put their hands out for High Fives from all the people walking by. Lots of Laughs and Lots of Fun!

The Saturday after my Birthday we went Downtown with Jessica&Jared, Megan&Marty, and Ian&Mandy and it was so much fun. All the kids came and we went to Pinkberry, this really Yummy Ice Cream shop. We all LOVED the Ice Cream and then went and walked around the strip a little afterwards. We love hanging out with Family especially around this time of year!

My 23rd birthday was on the 5th and I had such a good and fun day. Jason made me an omelet in bed and then my cute Gramms took us to lunch at the Elephant Bar which was so Yummy!

When Jason asked me what I wanted I always just said "I want yummy food, maybe a Gift Card to go shopping," [which anyone who knows me knows that shopping is my FAVORITE hobby...And yes, it's really a hobby.] or a Coach Purse, he laughed at that last one by the way. Well Friday morning after he brought me the tasty omelet he made he told me I had two options to either go on a [reasonably priced] shopping spree, or go to the Outlet Mall in Castle Rock and go to...drum roll please... THE COACH STORE! And as much as I LOVE a nice shopping spree, I went for the purse. [Little did he know I was thinking about Christmas which is not too far away...Shopping spree here I come! =] I got a GREAT deal on this purse that I just am Crazy about and a wallet to match!

Then we went to Hobby Lobby and bought a few things for Christmas because that was the other thing I wanted to do. After that we went Downtown to Maggiano's for dinner [my favorite restaurant] and that was AMAZING.

I loved every minute of my Birthday! Thank You so much hubby for making it so great!

A couple of weekends ago we went with Ian&Mandy and Marty&Megan (and of course their little cuties) to Silverthorne to do some shopping at the Outlet Malls there. We had a blast just laughing, eating, watching poor Tanner fall everywhere and of course SHOPPING! After we got done with some of the shops we drove to Vail to go eat at this yummy Chinese Food place called May Palace. It was SO worth it to drive 30 min each way to Vail just for that!... Then we drove back to Silverthorne and shopped around a little more and then got food AGAIN before heading back home. (our families eat a lot =]) The ride back was hilarious...Megan and I were in the back trying to feed the boys, food was flying around everywhere and Marty was driving like a mad man (just kidding Marty!) and Megan is also roughly 7 1/2 months pregnant and has to pee every 10 to 15 minutes...And then Mandy calls us to let us know there's traffic up ahead. Needless to say we had so much fun and would love to do it all over again. Thanks guys for the fun weekend!

So far this summer we went to Utah! Jason's dad and step-mom live out there and so does LEISEL! We had a nice little vacation that was relaxing and filled with lots of LAUGHS! Leisel and I got to spend some quality time shopping at the Gateway Mall and eating lots of junk food! We had tons of fun riding around in "The Slug Bug Convertible" and laughed a lot while doing it. It was so good to see some of the people we love and haven't seen in a while!

So we went to the Avs vs Red Wings game and it was SO much fun! We had amazing Box seats and the best part was that I got Dippin' Dots AND Cotton Candy that night! I was in HeAVeN! Jason was like a little kid, it was so cute. He was so excited to be in the Box and see the Avs win!

Jason and I went to Texas in October for his Grandpa's funeral. We had a really good time considering the circumstances and tried to make the most of it. I hadn't met any of his family on his dad's side so that was really nice to be able to spend some time with all of them. He has some very interesting but very fun/funny family members. We weren't too crazy about Texas... and the water was GROSS but other than that we had a good time. They have AmaZIng Fried Pickles! :D

For Halloween this year I dressed up as Cyndi Lauper. Jason didn't really want to dress up this year but I was able to for work so I took full advantage of that. I had such a blast dressing up and I even made part of my costume! A few weeks ago I went to Alaska to visit my Family out there. It was SO much fun. Megan and her boys went the same time I did and it could not have gone better. I think it was the FOURTH time we went to the Airport trying to get home that I started going a little crazy. ;O) But other than that Alaska was gorgeous and I had a blast... Even though with how much driving we did and long detours, we STILL never saw a Moose. And then when my dad and Nolan dropped us off at the Airport the Third time they saw 2! :D Dad and Charlotte thank you SO much for letting me come stay with you for almost 2 weeks and being the best Dad and Bonus Mom EVER! Miss you all so much! Can't wait to come back up and visit!

So far, this Summer has been a busy one. Between Work, Friends and Family there hasn't been much time to breathe. But who would want it any other way? We went camping over the 4th of July in Estes Park and had a blast! All of the Brother's and Sister's were there and all the little kidos. We really missed my Dad and Charlotte and the kids but they had to be in Alaska for some dang reason. ;O) There will be more pictures to come!

We have also been to quite a few Rockies game's and I'm starting to think that I'm all Baseballed out. Our good buddy Doug came to visit and stayed with us for a few days which was way fun. It was so good to see him!

There is still a month and a half left in the Summer and still more fun to come!

A little late... I know. But I finally had time to put up pictures from Valentine's Day! We had such a good day and an even better night. We went to the Nuggets Game (my gift to Jason and for anyone that knows Jason this was the perfect gift.) And had a blast of course! I got to eat my favorite thing EVER... Dippin' Dots! Which is the real reason why I go to games but don't tell J that. ;O) It was hilarious though because in the middle of the game this fat guy starts STRIPPING when the "Dance Cam" was on him and got his shirt off and almost got his pants off before the cops came and tackled him. It was AWESOME. Ha ha... Just gave us a really good laugh. And THEN this one other guy came over right next to Jason in the isle who was totally drunk as could be and started dancing like crazy. He almost knocked J out twice! Man it was a great night... And very romantic too. The perfect Valentine's Day. Thanks hun! I loved it!

My dad told me about this Nuggets thing that his favorite radio station was hosting at the Pepsi Center so we decided we'd check it out. I'm watching my little brother Nate during the day so Jason, Nolan and I took him with us. We went and got him a shirt and a little basketball to get signed and then woke up at 6:45 in the morning to get down there. It was a lot of fun... The players just sucked and didn't do any autographs. But the boys liked watching the beginning part of their shooting practice and getting to see all the players and make fun of them while they did their stretches. I on the other hand could have done without that... Nate got a little bored while we waited to see the players and was hungry every 10 minutes... But that's nothing new! He just sat there and made me laugh the whole time. Then Jason took him down to get a picture with Lewis, one of the jockeys from the radio station. Anyways,we had fun but we would probably have to bribe Nate to go with us again. ;O)

HE'S FINALLY DONE!!!... Jason graduated on December 12th and that was one of the happiest days of my life. I was so glad that all of the tests and studying and homework was finally over. (I'm pretty sure he was too ;O)) I'm so proud of him and I love him so much. He was so cute and funny the whole night. When he went up to get his diploma he shook the first Professor's hand and then gave his favorite Teacher Brother Clay a High Five. We were laughing so hard. I was like a little mom in the isle of the seats taking a ton of pictures and telling him to "Smile bigger!" (Hence the picture with the HUGE smile on his face with his eyes closed.) He is such an awesome guy and I am so happy that he has made this huge accomplishment in his life. He worked very hard for this and he's just the best. His graduating also meant us moving out of Rexburg and back to Denver which made me even more happy and excited!

December 10th was my last day as a Preschool teacher and it was a fun but sad day. We had a Gingerbread Man hunt and it was so fun and freaking hilarious to play. I loved my kids and will miss them so much! I was ready to leave only because I was way excited about moving back to Denver. Being a teacher was definitely the best and most exciting job I've ever had. I miss it... Sometimes. ;O) These were some of my kids and Miss Cortney's (my favorite teacher there!)

Ian and Mandy came up to visit us last weekend and we had a ton of fun. I also got to finally hold my niece Emma! (The last time we saw her she was 2 days old and we couldn't hold her because she had to stay under these lamps that kept her warm. She was an early baby.) She is so dang cute and so much fun! It's crazy how she can't talk, yet she makes you laugh all the time. Mandy is such a good mom and Ian is so funny with her. Ian and Mandy wanted to eat at all their favorite places up here which was awesome because I hardly had to cook! ;O) We ate at Craigos, Millhollow, and Big Juds and they were all SO good. On our down time we played Wii... Which was after we woke up, until it was time to eat lunch, and after lunch until it was time to eat dinner, and after dinner until finally at 4 am when we all felt like we were going to fall asleep right where we were. We also went to IF and went to Target and then visited a friend of Ian, Mandy and Jason's. It's weird how they all grew up together and went to college together so they know all the same people... And I'm pretty much the odd one out. ;O) Mandy was so nice and did my hair on Saturday night at like midnight (THANKS MANDY!) and she did a great job. She knew how to highlight with foils and everything! Ian made fun of me the whole weekend which is not new to anyone who knows us... But it's okay because that's how he shows he loves me... And I show my love by punching him when he's mean. : D Anyways, Jason absolutely adores Emma and he was so good with her. She was so smiley and just the cutest thing. And I of course loved her! We loved having them over and can't wait to see them again soon!

So on Friday we went to Hard Hat (An amazing restaurant up here) and then to Rigby to go bowling. We had so much fun! There were 19 people with us and it was crazy. At this bowling alley you keep your own score and the ball comes back to you where you can see it... It's such an old but awesome place. We had all of our closest friends from up here with us and I couldn't have asked for a better "Birthday Party." Here are some pictures from the night...

So this was the first year that Jason and I got to carve pumpkins together because last year we were long distance. It was so much fun! Jason was cracking me up the whole time. Not only did it take him an HOUR to clean out the guts and seeds, it took him another HOUR AND A HALF to carve his picture. Calling him a perfectionist would be an understatement. So here is our pumpkin carving process...

Jason was using a spoon at first to clean out all the guts and my whole life I've just dug right in with my hands. After making fun of him for quite a while he started to use his hands. It was so awesome! I don't know how we only got one picture of him carving... It was probably because I got tired of waiting for him to finish gutting it. Man he took FOREVER. But his pumpkin turned out way cool so I guess it was worth the time. And all you Bronco fans hopefully will appreciate this...

I loved mine because it's just crazy... Like me! And Jason is a hardcore sports fan for those of you that didn't know... It's almost sickening.

He especially loves the Colorado teams. It works out though... It gives him something to watch while I watch all my "girlie" shows.

So these were in the front of our house one day behind the fence in this field.

We're pretty sure there is a horse, a mule and a donkey. One big happy family! :O)

The little baby one put his nose through the fence and I went to touch it and it tried attacking me!... Okay so maybe that's a little dramatic but I swear it tried biting me. (Jason thinks I'm crazy and that he liked me...)

I was talking to Jess on the phone when we saw these guys and she was laughing and making fun of me for pretty much living on a farm. Me? On a Farm!? What a joke.

They kept Jason and I entertained for quite a while and we had fun feeding them weeds and stuff. The big one was making noises at Jason and he kept on saying that he was "Barking" at him. Yeah... Okay Jason...

.:FUN AT THE PARK:.

So for fun in Rexburg we like to go to the Park... Woot woot! Jason loves to play catch but I'm not a huge fan of it because he hurts my hand when he throws the ball. (How he can't remember that it's fragile little me he's throwing to is beyond me.) He likes to call me a "wuss", not fragile like I do. ;O) Instead of playing catch this time we went and got a plastic bat and whiffle ball. We took turns batting and I got sick of running after the ball when Jason hit it so we thought of a new game.

We call it "Sir Hits A Lot." (Don't ask, Jason made it up. ;O)) You have to see how many times you can keep the ball in the air with the bat. For some reason we were having so much fun. Anyways, I was winning for the first half of the game and then Jason got 32! The most I got was 11. :O( But I'm a good loser. He just had to buy me ice cream. It's probably our new favorite thing to do! It makes me laugh and the concentration you have when you're playing is hilarious.

We can't wait to get to Denver and then we can play it with all of you guys! I know I know, You're excited I can tell. Only 2 more months!

The Temple is on the highest hill in Rexburg and it is so gorgeous. It is right up the street from where we live and at night, when it's all lit up, it's breathtaking.

This was our favorite engagement picture. It was like 35 degrees outside and we had to trek through the snow to get to this spot and it turned out perfect. As soon as we got this picture taken I ran back to the car to go thaw my feet. It was absolutely freezing, but worth it in end.

For our Honeymoon we went to Breckenridge, Steamboat, and Park City and we had a blast. The night of our wedding we stayed at the Ritz Carlton in Denver and it was like heaven on earth. The room was amazing and the service there was just so awesome. They treated us like we were the only people in the world. We felt pretty cool, I'm not gonna lie. ;O) Our favorite restaurant we went to out of the whole trip was Bubba Gump's. We had ribs there that were unreal. Ever since then we like to order ribs but we haven't found anything even remotely close to the mouth watering ribs at Bubba's. We shopped a lot and just walked around the towns and relaxed a lot. Room Service was our best friend for the week. We ate out so much we were just sick of it by the end of the trip. It was great to get back home and decorate our apartment and all that fun stuff.

I became a Thomson on April 12, 2008. It was the happiest day of anyone that knew Jason's life... It just took him a long time to pick a wife. ;O) We were married in the Denver Temple and right after the ceremony was over we went through the car wash and then through the Burger King drive-thru. (We were beyond starving.) After that we headed over to the church where our Reception was held. It was so much fun to see all of our family and friends and everything turned out amazing.

.:THE STUMP:.

This is our favorite place in Colorado. It's what we call the "Stump." The story behind it is that when Jason was down for a weekend in October we were out driving and he really wanted to show me where he spent a lot of his time when he was a kid. He told me it was this huge treehouse and he was so excited to show it to me. Come to find out, when we got there all that was left of his "treehouse" was this huge stump. He was so crushed and I, of course, thought it was funny. So he took me over to it and we sat on it and talked for hours and then had our "First Kiss" on it. Cute huh? And so then we went back there a couple days later before he had to leave to go back to school in Idaho and he asked me to be his "girlfriend." It was just cute how this became our spot. So then we were back down in Colorado for Christmas and on the 23rd he took me back there and proposed. Everything about it was perfect.
